Direct from Madrid, Concha Jareño gained critical acclaim as
both a Flamenco and Classical Spanish dancer. She has worked with artists such
as Rafael de Córdoba, Yolanda Heredia, Belén Maya, Rafaela Carrasco and Isabel
Bayón. Concha received the prestigious 2007 Matilde Coral and Mario Maya
National Awards in Flamenco Art in Cordoba. The following year, she won the
Flamenco Choreography Prize “Certamen de Coreografía de Danza Española y
Flamenco de Madrid”, and the second prize at the “Cante Flamenco de las Minas”.
Additionally, Concha was presented as a soloist in world-renowned director
Carlos Saura’s highly-acclaimed movie “Flamenco Hoy”.
Since 2004, Ms. Jareño has been one of the foremost resident teachers at the ‘Amor de
Dios’ Dance Academy in Madrid training numerous professional and
non-professional dancers from all over the world. Currently she is preparing
her new production “El Baúl de los Flamencos” and continues teaching, and
touring world-wide.
