Manuel Liñán was born in Granada, Spain, in 1980, and began his dance training with maestros such as Manolete and Mario Maya. Already having performed in festivals and tablaos, he moved to Madrid at age 17 and began dancing in festivals and theater productions across Andalucía, while continuing his training with accomplished dancers, including La China and Manuel Reyes. The following year his career exploded, as he performed with three major companies. He worked with la Compañía Carmen Cortés in the production “Salomé”. He performed as a soloist in the Bienal de Sevilla, one of the most important flamenco festivals in Spain, and he was a finalist in the festival´s flamenco competition that year. Also in 1998, he performed with la Compañía Adrián Galia in Festival Flamenco Mont de Marsan in France.

Just like that, he's gone. An ill wind blew in from the marsh and carried away the fragile bohemian genius named Miguel Vega de la Cruz, son of Miguel el Tomate and uncle of Tomatito, our much-admired Niño Miguel, born and gone in Huelva.

A “niño” who was more like an old man, not just his body, because at 61 most people still have plenty of energy, but his spirit. There was a bright flash of absolute fame – Paco de Lucía would say of him that he was one of the best flamenco guitarists of all time – a promising recuperation and then…the void.

Those were heady flamenco times when everything was moving along quickly. In just about two years, from 1973 to 1975, three ground-breaking compositions had come from three geniuses of the guitar: Paco de Lucía’s “Entre dos Aguas”, Manolo Sanlúcar’s “Caballo Blanco” and “Vals Flamenco” of Niño Miguel left a mark on the history of the genre, and established the viability of instrumental flamenco, so important in today’s music market. The Huelva man, youngest of the three, achieved a level of fame which, due to various problems, he would never be able to develop or take advantage of. José Ménese is one of the great non-gypsy singers, with an enormous, authentic love for flamenco, a full voice and a repertoire that exceeds the basic styles. José Menese is not a gypsy but his voice is, which can express the entire depth of the flamenco feeling. 

José Ménese (born José Ménese Scott) is one of flamenco music's greatest vocalists. More than three and a half decades after the release of his debut recording, with accompaniment by guitarist Melchor de Marchena in 1963, Menese continues to project passion and sensuality with his light-as-air vocals. A native of La Puebla de Cazalla, a small town in Seville, Menese launched his musical career after moving to Madrid in the late '50s. Having sharpened his skills with nightly performances at a popular nightclub, Tablao Zambra, Menese received the prestigious "tomas el nitri" award at the Flamenco Art National Contest in 1965. During the 1970s, Menese performed in Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Portugal, and France, where he recorded a live album at Olympia de Paris in November of 1974.

Diego Amaya Flores ("Diego del Gastor") nació en Arriate (Málaga) en el año 1908. Vivió desde niño en El Gastor (Cádiz) hasta el año 1923, circunstancia que se reflejó en su nombre artístico. A partir de ese año se avecindó en Morón de la Frontera donde residió hasta la fecha de su muerte, acaecida en 1973.
